The Cleveland Browns came to play, hands down, and they were not going to lose this one. They had fire, they had passion, and they didn’t have Charlie Frye. It was a game of who’s offense would score last, and The Browns came away with a Win when the clock ran down to 00:00. What a Sunday.
I thought it was going to be a long day when the Bengals scored with no problem on their opening drive, and then it took a while for the Browns to get into the end-zone.
I’m not going to bore you with all of the stats of the game, believe me there were a lot and you can get them here. More interesting stats here. It was a game of numbers and the Browns came out on top.
This game proves that Derek Anderson, although sceptical in pre-season, should of started last week against the Steelers. He started out rocky throwing a lot of balls behind his receivers and at their feet but he worked it out. That is the key…He worked it out. Charlie Frye would of not been able to do that, he would of tried to scramble more instead of keeping with what he does best. Throwing the ball.
The big hype of the game was when Chad Johnson went to jump into the Dawg Pound after scoring a touchdown. After not knowing where the Pound was on the first TD, he finally found it on his 2nd TD. As you can see in the picture, he jumped right into Dawg Pound Mike and this is what Mike had to say about Chad Johnson Jumping into the Dawg Pound. I give Chad Johnson props for even daring to do that, b/c you never really know what you will get when you jump into the Dawg Pound.
I think Crennel got a little bit more respect from the fans in Cleveland, even though he still doesn’t show much emotion on the sideline, he did a great job yesterday. We are still a long ways off from having a top notch coaching staff but this week showed me a side of Crennel that I had never seen, he won. That’s exciting.
With the steady run of Jamal Lewis and if Anderson can keep his throwing arm consistent I think the Browns will be getting more and more respect in the weeks to come. Even though the Browns won, everyone down here in Cincy still thinks that it was a fluke and have a huge list of excuses as to why the Bengals lost. But the fact of the matter is, the Bengals Lost. Browns got the W, Bengals got the L.

Straight up, the Bengals lost, and were horrible. While I do not think the Browns are very good, the Bengals defense was the worst unit on the field yesterday, hands down. Id be willing to bet that Lewis never runs for that many yards again though, ever….
